Infamous Foods
FILE - In this March 26, 2012 file photo, Jajuan Kelley, of Atlanta, wears a Skittles wrapper over his mouth during a rally in memory of Trayvon Martin, the unarmed 17-year-old who was killed by a Florida neighborhood watch captain while returning from a convenience store with a bag of Skittles and an iced tea, in Atlanta. Skittles isn't the first popular food brand to find itself at the center of a major controversy. The terms “the Twinkie defense” and “don't drink the Kool-Aid” became part of the vernacular decades ago in the wake of tragic events. More recently, Doritos made headlines when it was reported that the corn chips were Saddam Hussein's favorite snack. (AP Photo/David Goldman, File)

APTOPIX Sochi Olympics Gay in Sochi
In this photo taken Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014, performers Penelopa, right, and Veranda, left, who would only give their stage names, get ready backstage before a performance at the Mayak cabaret, the most reputable gay club in Sochi, Russia, host to 2014 Winter Olympics. Russia adopted a law last year, prohibiting vaguely defined propaganda of non-traditional sexual relations and pedophilia. The legislation makes it illegal to disseminate information to children even if it merely shows that gay people are just like everybody else. At Mayak, packed on Saturday night, gay men and women steered away from discussing the law, preferring to enjoy life, closeted as it is. About a hundred people were chatting at the bar, sitting in armchairs or dancing. Couples were sharing kisses. Everyone was waiting for the club's specialty: a drag show. At 1.30 a.m. on Sunday, the music stopped and the show began. (AP Photo/David Goldman)

War Hits Home
FILE - In this Monday, May 28, 2012 file photo, the grave of U.S. Marine Lance Cpl. Michael Harris is seen through an American flag as the the sun rises over Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Ga. Harris died Feb 6, 2012 at the age of 22 while serving in Afghanistan. Eleven years after the U.S. began battling to rid Afghanistan of al-Qaida and the Taliban, the war has ebbed from the headlines. The question of just how to end it is barely mentioned in the speeches of this year's presidential campaign. Polls find most Americans just want it over. Families of soldiers killed in action despair that many of their fellow citizens have neither the time nor the patience to grapple with the complexities of the conflict or to appreciate the sacrifice of the soldiers fighting it. APTOPIX Americans Lost Wealth
Michael, left, and Patricia Jackson are photographed in their home Saturday, June 16, 2012, in Marietta, Ga. On a suburban cul-de-sac northwest of Atlanta, the Jacksons are struggling to keep a house worth $100,000 less than they owe. Their voices and those of many others tell the story of a country that, for all the economic turmoil of the past few years, continues to believe things will get better. But until it does, families are trying to hang on to what they've got left. The Great Recession claimed nearly 40 percent of Americans' wealth, the Federal Reserve reported last week. The new figures, showing Americans' net worth has plunged back to what it was in 1992, left economists shuddering. (AP Photo/David Goldman)
