Psychoanalyst Dr. Sigmund Freud of Vienna departs on his first airplane flight from Tempelhof Field in Berlin, Germany on Nov. 9, 1928. When Freud published his book "The Interpretation of Dreams" in October 1900, it laid the foundation for the new science of psychoanalysis. Freud believed dreams contained symbols which revealed much about an individual's personality. His revolutionary work in human sexuality, and the power of the unconscious mind gave new meaning to the references of the id, the ego and the superego. Eric Fernihough, the British racing motor cyclist, established two new world's speed records on the Gyon Road in Budapest, Hungary, on Nov. 9, 1936. On his 1,000 C.C. Brough Superior machine he averaged 164. 778 miles per hour as compared with the old record of 162.7 miles per hour. His other record was 80.964 miles per hour for the motor cycle-sidecar combination speed record. His first record was made with a flying start. Shown in photo is Joe “Ducky-Wucky” Medwick, St. Louis Cardinals slugging outfielder, won the award of the most valuable player of the National League, Nov. 9, 1937 in New York, it was announced by the Baseball Writers Association who made the award.
