Star drivers and pioneering new hybrid cars delivered a high-voltage introduction to the 2022 FIA World Rally Championship in Austria on January 15. The WRC's ground-breaking new Rally1 cars from three manufacturers gathered for the first time in Salzburg's Hangar-7 as the 2022 season was launched five days before the opening round at Rallye Monte-Carlo (January 20-23). In the championship's 50th season, the WRC will undergo major environmental changes as new FIA technical regulations drive the series towards a more sustainable future. Plug-in hybrid-powered cars built around an upgraded safety cell chassis, 100 percent fossil-free fuel and sustainable energy supplies are key to the sport's commitment to a greener future. // The M-Sport Ford Puma Hybrid Rally1 seen during the WRC launch at the Hangar 7 in Salzburg, Austria on January 15, 2022. // Joerg Mitter / Limex Images / Red Bull Content Pool via AP Images // For more content, pictures and videos like this please go to http://www.redbullcontentpool.com

Maame Biney has been a breath of fresh air in the global speed skating scene since she broke through as a raw, powerful 17-year-old in 2017 and the first African-American to represent her country is now using innovative 3D technology to go even faster. Known for her infectious positivity, Biney qualified for Pyeongchang in 2018 where she made it to the quarter-finals of the 500m race as the youngest ever competitor. Biney showcased her huge potential again in 2021 when she won gold in the 500m, 1,000m and 1,500m to claim the women's overall title at the US Championships. The 21-year-old collaborated recently in the city of Ogden, Utah, with her coach Simon Cho and company FKB to improve her technique further as she targets global titles and a crack at the short track world record. The technological innovation on the ice combines motion capture to capture movements on the ice, pressure sensors in her ice skates and LiDAR technology for a 3D representation of the ice and her movement. // Maame Biney skates in Ogden, UT, USA on October 3, 2021. // Robert Snow/Red Bull Content Pool via AP Images // For more content, pictures and videos like this please go to http://www.redbullcontentpool.com
